"To err is human" when it comes to criminal justice.
Better lawyers = more likely to be found not guilty
so the rich die less often by the hand of
the state than the poor.
Poor lawyers = more likely to be found guilty even if innocent if the opposing lawyer is better.
One innocent life taken by the state is one to many.
A true life sentence 'should' be a greater punishment than execution. As life meaning life with no hope of release in basic prison conditions, 'should' mean a lifetime to consider what was done. Execution on the other hand is an escape from that, the crimials 'easy' way out.
This is true for the death penalty by Old Sparky or any other method.
